Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an alternative medical approach to treating pain and injury. It is one of the oldest forms of medicine and is still widely accepted as a leading treatment in the relief of pain and injury.

Essentially, Acupuncture works by promoting blood flow and stimulating the body's natural responses to injury. In this way, Acupuncture can speed up the recovery process following injury.
'Does Acupuncture Work?' The answer is yes, it does. It can be very effective in the treatment of back pain, neck pain, trigger points, aching joints and arthritis. Although its effects can vary from person to person.

However, don't expect to be treated in a traditional Chinese way. Consult Physio is not guided by Meridians and Chi, but by a detailed understanding of our anatomy. We use localised Acupuncture points around or even directly onto an injury site to stimulate a fast effective response. We use a number of different techniques including 'Dry Needling' and 'Intramuscular Stimulation’ and will typically apply acupuncture in conjunction with other treatment techniques.

Work Station Assessments

As a result of the advancement of IT, people are spending longer sitting at their desks without taking natural breaks. Added to this is an increase in stress, which has become a more widespread problem as a result of job uncertainties.

Recent statistics reveal a lack of regular exercise, and an increase in obesity. These three factors alone increase the likelihood of workplace problems.
How can we help:
  • DSE Assessments.
  • Ergonomic Workstation Assessment
Advice on posture, work time management and exercise will increase overall comfort at the workstation, resulting in:
  • Reduction of lower back pain
  • Reduction of stress caused neck and shoulder tension
  • Prevention of repetitive strains
  • Back Care Presentations
We offer a one hour in-house back care presentation for you and your employees. This includes work station assessments and advice.
